Job Description

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees in the chemical industry.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in the workplace in the chemical industry.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and develop corrective action plans in the chemical industry.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees to increase safety awareness and promote a safety culture in the chemical industry.
  • Manage the safety data sheets and ensure that all chemicals used in the chemical manufacturing process are handled and stored safely.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to minimize the potential for accidents and incidents in the chemical industry.
  • Monitor and maintain safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory to ensure proper functioning and availability in the chemical industry.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that all safety-related regulations and standards are met in the chemical industry.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety in the chemical industry.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans to ensure that all employees are prepared to respond to emergency situations in the chemical industry.

Job Requirements

  • MSc/BSc degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role in the chemical industry.
  • ADIS/BGIS certification is required.
  • Good knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to the chemical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations in the chemical industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in the chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of risk management and emergency response planning in the chemical industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in the chemical industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety in the chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of safety management software and tools used in the chemical industry is a plus.
