Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for automotive components and materials.
    • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
    • Continuously monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
  2. Negotiation and Contract Management:
    • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
    • Draft and manage procurement contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
    • Implement cost-effective procurement strategies to optimize expenditure.
  3. Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
    • Monitor and report on procurement expenditures to management.
  4. Vendor Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
    • Seek out new suppliers to expand the supplier base.
    • Collaborate with vendors to improve lead times, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Materials Planning and Inventory Control:
    • Work closely with production and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
    • Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality control, to meet production and quality requirements.
    • Communicate procurement status, challenges, and opportunities to the management team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Mechanical) or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive components, materials, and suppliers.
  • Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Ability to analyze costs and implement cost-effective strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for supplier visits and audits.
